Dear students and families,
Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! My name is Mr. David Serpentine, and I will be your child’s seventh-grade homeroom, ELA, and social studies teacher at MPRCS. Seventh grade is important as students grow spiritually, academically, and socially. This is also the year students think about and plan for high school.
I am passionate about teaching English because I want to help students become better readers and communicators through their writing and speech. Students will enhance their reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar skills through engaging and challenging activities.
I am also passionate about teaching social studies because I want to help students link the past to the present. In this class, students will apply content knowledge with historical reasoning while utilizing primary and secondary sources. Students can expect to engage in high-order thinking skills as they advance their reading, writing, and communication skills.
As for homeroom, seventh-grade students will participate in the Media Veterans’ Day parade, Christmas pageant, Living Stations performance, Confirmation, and a special end-of-the-year field trip. Students can expect to perform various service projects and collaborate with their prayer partners throughout the school year.
Finally, students and parents are encouraged to view my Google Classroom and MPRCS teacher webpage to learn about my daily ELA and social studies agenda/homework. Additionally, students and parents are encouraged to check Option C often, as this will contain up-to-date information on a student’s grades and progress.
Please email me with any questions or concerns at [email protected]. I look forward to working and communicating with you throughout this year.
Sincerely,
Mr. David Serpentine, M.S. (Secondary Education), M.A. (American History)
