Deborah Mantegna, MSN, RN brings a breadth and depth of experience serving as both a nurse and a natural leader in the community and for our country. In her position as the System Director, Community Health and Outreach for Main Line Health which she has held for 3 years, Deborah oversees the system’s community outreach including educational programs, support groups and medical screenings. She is an active participant in the system’s Community Health Needs Assessment and part of the system’s Diversity, Respect, Equity, and Inclusion leadership team. In addition to her system duties, she manages Riddle Hospital’s Community Health and Outreach, including the Tobacco Dependency Treatment program, Community CPR program and the Volunteer program. She played an active role in the Health Career Academy program at Chester High School and a supportive role with the Annenberg High School Science Symposium at the Chester S.T.E.M. Academy. She serves on many internal and external committees, including the newly formed Women’s Development Employee Resource Group. She is a faculty member for the Diversity, Respect & Inclusion Learning Experience and has been with Main Line Health and Riddle Hospital for almost 33 years. Her career started as a nurse in the Emergency Department at Riddle and other local hospitals. This experience proved vital, when in 1989, Deborah brought her clinical experience to the United States Army Reserve. While in the military, she developed a mobile Immunization Team, to help non-medical units keep their soldiers up to date on immunizations. She also coordinated a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NR-EMT) Refresher Course so Army medics could retain their credentials. During her last assignment, Deborah served as an instructor for the Brigade Combat Trauma Readiness Program at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. In July 2009, Deborah retired as a Major after serving for 20 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Neumann University and a master’s degree in nursing from Wilmington University. She was selected as a finalist for Nurse.com Nursing Excellence GEM award (2015) and the Pennsylvania Nightingale Award (2014) and was selected as Main Line Today’s Top Nurse in 2021 and 2022. Deborah has lived in Delaware County for most of her life and currently resides in Middletown Township with her husband, Ven, an engineer at Boeing. They have four daughters, Heather, Lauren, Natalie and Jessica and one grandson, Carter. Heather is an attorney who resides outside Chicago with her husband. Lauren is a partner in an insurance firm and lives in West Chester with her husband and son. Natalie is an engineer with Northrop Grumman, currently living outside Baltimore but planning to relocate to Utah in the fall. Jessica is a first-year student at Towson University. Deborah is an active community volunteer. She was a Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s troops for many years and coached CYO volleyball teams for Nativity BVM. Currently, she volunteers for Girls Spark, her church, where she serves as a lector and with the Neumann University Nursing Alumni Chapter. She served on the Foundation Board for the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce Foundation Board and is currently a commissioner with the Delaware County Women’s Commission.
